Jelena Ostapenko vs. Aliaksandra Sasnovich, Wimbledon R4 Prediction

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§ Wimbledon, R4 Prediction
πŸ‡±πŸ‡» (12) Jelena Ostapenko vs. πŸ‡§πŸ‡Ύ Aliaksandra Sasnovich

On paper, this may look like a bit of mismatch. A former Grand Slam champion and top 10 player up against a fairly unheralded player that had never previously reach the second week of a Grand Slam. However, Sasnovich is not be ignored. The Belarusian is a player on the rise and has the type of solid game that can get the better of the Latvian, if Ostapenko is not at her best, Sasnovich will take full advantage.

I’m going to side with Sasnovich here. It is Sasnovich who has come through a far tougher draw to reach this stage, her first round win over Petra Kvitova was huge and showed exactly what she is capable of. Sasnovich faces a fairly similar test here against Ostapenko and I think her solid game will again see her through. In many ways, these two have similar strengths and weaknesses, but obviously Ostapenko is far more powerful. Sasnovich has a more versatile game and is more consistent.

All the pressure is on Ostapenko here. Usually Ostapenko plays better when she is not expected to win, I think Sasnovich will be solid enough to draw enough errors and sneak through this one.

Prediction: Aliaksandra Sasnovich to defeat Jelena Ostapenko in 3 sets
